  • A unique look and limited-edition exclusivity, from MAAP
  • This jersey is the first of a new series, that uses offcut material
  • What would would be waste, has been repurposed into a more colourful version of the Evade Pro riding jersey

Cycling garments work hard for a living. They need to keep you comfy, dry and ventilated – during vigorous riding sessions.

To achieve this, cycling brands use advanced fabrics – which aren’t cheap.

Shaping a cycling jersey into the required proportions, to fit with aerodynamic snugness, can produce a fair amount of offcut materials. Which is sort of wasteful, when you consider how advanced those offcut bits are, in terms of stretch resistance and breathability.

Australian rider apparel brand, MAAP, have found a better way of dealing with its offcut material issue. The design studio, in Melbourne, has now revealed a new MAAP jersey made from offcuts.

It is the first of what is promised to become a seasonal range, using offcut material to create multicoloured cycling garments.

Comfy - with great sun protection

This limited edition garment is effectively a more colourful version of MAAP’s Evade Pro base jersey. That means you get the proven MAAP garment geometry, which sits with ergonomic comfort and doesn’t sag over time – even if you load those rear pockets with snacks, a Smartphone and some essential riding spares.

The MAAP offcuts jersey uses a YKK zip, which won’t catch and crunch fabric. It also works perfectly well, even after a gravel ride, if some dust manages to settle on the zipper.

As one would expect from an Australian cycling jersey, the MAAP Evade Pro offcut does its best to protect you from the sun when riding along.

Its Italian fabric is rated at SPF50+ sun protection, making it ideal for those Karoo gravel riding adventures, or a long day of riding in South African summer temperatures.

If you like the idea of a premium cycling jersey, with some distinctive asymmetric colours and sustainable material usage, this MAAP Evade Pro, made from offcuts, could be ideal.
