There are alternatives for those not quite committed enough to complete the traditional Festive 500 ride.

If riding huge distances after Christmas are not quite your thing, perhaps it is time to embrace the creative freedom of GoPro’s latest action cameras.

Although outrageous Christmas outfits aren’t the last word in ventilated riding comfort, they look great on the trail. More so, when the mountain bikers wearing them are capable of some inspired riding.

Santa taking some time out - to ride

GoPro’s festive season edit is one of the most entertaining you’ll see in a long while. The company’s latest-generation action cameras and adaptive mounts were used to capture footage of mountain bikers on a very alternative Christmas trail ride.

All the Christmas gifting characters were present: Santa, reindeer and even some elves. GoPro got some of the most talented mountain bikers involved to ensure this Christmas edit did not lack drama or riding skill.

Legendary downhill and 4X racer, Brian Lopes, and free riding pioneer, Richie Schley, are among the riders who embraced the Christmas riding theme for this GoPro film.

The riding is of an exceptional standard and made that much more entertaining by the presence of ridiculous Christmas outfits.

GoPro used the Skyforest venue in San Bernardino, California, to film its Christmas trail insert.

If you did not get that desired new mountain bike under the Christmas tree, you now know why: Santa Claus and his crew were out riding and might have neglected some of their delivery commitments.
