Charlize Theron rips up the rule book when it comes to beauty.
The actor insists there shouldn't be any rules when it comes to make-up and style.
"Beauty is subjective. I don't think there should be any rules! The best looks happen when you take risks," she said, according to BANG Showbiz.
About the best beauty advice she's ever received, Charlize said: "My hairstylist Adir has taught me to never be afraid to take risks."
The 47-year-old star's beauty icon is her mother, Gerda, because she's "confident" in her own skin.
"She's outspoken and also caring. She takes fantastic care of herself, so she feels good!" the star reportedly told Elle UK.
When it comes to beauty and perfume, the busy star, who is mom to daughters Jackson, 10, and August, 7, opts for minimalism.
"My approach to beauty and fragrance is that simple is best. I'm a mother of two, so I can't always spend a lot of time in front of the mirror every morning - I have to get them to school!"
The star also recently explained that as she gets older, she does not wear a ton of powder on her face, and being able to "look natural" on film has changed her approach to her red carpet look.
"I think a lot of us are so hypersensitive about not wanting to look like sweaty pigs! [But] I don't think it [powder] is very flattering on women, especially as we get older. So you don't have to use a powder."
