Violet, from Joburg, once went to a police station to get some documents certified. "The cop took my ID, made a photocopy of it, refused to give the ID or my documents back [to me] until he had walked me to my car. He then wouldn't let me get in until I gave him my number," she says.
He told her: "I know where you live now. And I am the police, so don't lie to me."
