The DA started the fun (even though they originally kept mum about it) with these billboards declaring "E-tolls. Proudly brought to you by the ANC."
Needless to say, the leading party wasn’t too pleased and reportedly lodged a complaint with the Advertising Standards Authority and Independent Electoral Commission.
Then, in an effort to drum up a bit more good publicity, ANC spokesperson Jackson Mthembu started a Twitter campaign called #ProudlyBroughtByANC. But boy, did it backfire!
Twitter users responded accordingly, and the tweets that followed were mostly hilarious, but also thought-provoking.
