Los Angeles - British singer Elton John has been hospitalised in Los Angeles for a severe respiratory infection, a statement on his website said on Thursday.
John, 65, developed the ailment over the weekend while in Las Vegas to perform his residency shows at the Colosseum. As a result of the illness he has cancelled three scheduled performances in the gambling capital.
"It feels strange not to be able to perform these 'Million Dollar Piano' concerts at The Colosseum," the singer said in a statement.
"I love performing this show and I will be thrilled when we return to The Colosseum in October to complete the eleven concerts soon to be scheduled."
