We fell in love with Carey Mulligan’s glamorous character Daisy Buchanan in the hit movie The Great Gatsby.
Her classic look perfectly embodies 1920s retro glam, and we’ve been wanting to try it out ever since.
Here’s how:
Daisy’s look was soft, classic and ladylike so, when creating this look remember to use a light hand.
1: Begin with some primer for your skin and apply a pink-based foundation for a smooth ‘peaches and cream’ era-appropriate look. The 1920’s was a time where tanning wasn’t in fashion so doing this look is perfect for winter.
2: For your eyes, choose eye shadows in different shades of blacks, greys and browns. Blend black, grey and brown together on the lids but remembering to apply lightly.
3: The 1920s look was delicate, so ditch the heavy black mascara and apply individual false lashes to your eyes. Finish with a light coat of mascara.
4: For your lips, pick a light pink nude shade and finish with some clear gloss!
And voila! You are 1920s Great Gatsby gorgeous!
