The problem with these holidays is that they are so long, I am already repeating myself. Putt-putt again, Mom?

Holiday homework to the rescue! I'd like to shake the hand of the teacher who came up with the idea of wordsearches and maths puzzles as a fun way to keep the brain alert until the end of the FIFA World Cup. For me, it's half an hour a day when I read my book, smiling encouragingly at regular intervals.

Parent24 blogger Ebony & Ivory has come up with a craft challenge idea, so if you have creative kids, that might be worth a try.

Have a look at our directory for edutainment ideas.

Or check out our events pages for what's happening where you are.

What's your holiday time-killing secret? Mail us, and if yours is the best idea, we'll send you a R250 voucher from kalahari.net to spend on games, crafts or books. To kill more time!
