Safe and sound

Home is supposed to be our ‘safe place’ – it’s where we can go inside, lock the door and relax. But is it as safe as you think? Many childhood injuries are caused by domestic accidents - there’s no limit to kids’ curiosity and safety can’t be taken for granted.

If you've ever thought that all the performance about childproofing the home for babies is all a bit over the top, just watch this footage.  Taken over a few days, four hours of play have been time-lapsed into just two minutes of video.

Important to note:  although this 9-month-old cannot walk yet, he is agile and very curious  - sharp edged furniture, unsecured cupboards, fragile ornaments, electrical cords or open power-points would have been explored by this baby if they had been left in this room.

Take a room-by-room tour through our virtual house, and find out how to childproof your home.
