
He’s responsible for basically every talent reality TV show out there (X-Factor, Idols, Britain’s got Talent), but now he’s taking on quite a new challenge. He’s going to be a dad.
Yes, according to US Weekly, the 53-year-old is expecting a little bundle of joy with a socialite named Lauren Silverman who happens to be married to one of Simon’s very close friends, Andrew Silverman.
Lauren is reportedly “10 weeks along” according to an insider and plans to leave her husband for her baby daddy.
"Lauren and Andrew have been unhappy in their marriage for some time, and their divorce has been in the works for a while," a source told US Weekly. "As their marriage deteriorated, she and Simon became close."
Yeah, really close. In the downstairs area.
The best part? Simon always said he never wanted children. "God, no. I couldn't have children. If I had them here drawing on the walls I'd go nuts. With kids, you've got a routine you can't escape from. You've got to be up at a certain time. Got to listen. When all you want to do is sit in a corner thinking," he said in 2009.
But, last year, in another interview, he seemed to be softening towards the idea, and said that he had “probably missed the opportunity."
