Shine bright like a (Swarovski) diamond Gert-Johan Coetzee!

Anyone who has ever seen a Gert-Johan design will know that it encapsulates elegance, sensuality and novelty.

Basically, it’s unlike any other design you’ve seen before (at least that’s my opinion).

So I wasn’t surprised when I heard the news that he had been named as the first ever South African Swarovski Elements brand ambassador.

The “Made with Swarovski Elements” label on a dress signals authenticity and the highest standards of crystal design and apparently the funky designer can’t wait to add the distinctive swing tag to selected GJC garments.

“My passion has always been for high-glamour and sparkle and I can’t think of a better partner than Swarovski to take GJC couture to the next level of opulence. It is a great honour to have been chosen to officially bring Swarovski into the spotlight in South Africa.” he said. “Armani embellished Princess Charlene from Monaco’s wedding gown with 40 000 Swarovski crystals… let me see if I can beat that!”

Coetzee is already working on a launch collection embellished with Swarovski Elements and promises to pull out all the stops. “I love the brilliant crystal colours of Swarovski Elements, and coming from a country with a vast mineral treasure chest below our soil, I am designing with a very specific mineral-inspired colour palette in mind.”

Aside from a high-concept couture collection, Coetzee also plans to bring the purity of Swarovski crystal to more affordable ready-to-wear garments. “I will show that Swarovski is not just for bold eveningwear and gorgeous bridal gowns, but can add a fun yet sophisticated twist to daywear too.”

We think this is the perfect opportunity for him to take his brand to the next level of success and popularity. I mean, Kelly Rowland and Kourtney Kardashian have both worn his designs on the red carpet, so we’re sure there are even bigger things to come, and we can’t wait!
