In the spring of 2019, Nomcebo Zikode stepped into studio with producer Master KG to create a song called Jerusalema. Months later, the track went viral.

While many were blown away by the success of the song, it came as no surprise to the singer - she knew there was something special about it from the moment she first penned the lyrics.

Channel24's Music Editor caught up with Nomcebo on a Wednesday afternoon in early August. The singer's soulful voice echoed through the phone as we exchanged pleasantries.

The past months have been a whirlwind, but Nomcebo is no overnight sensation. With 15 years of experience in the industry, she has worked with several major artists and started as a backup singer.
