Among the interesting findings Google shares in its annual Year in Search reports, there's no denying the most fascinating: the 10 most Googled Babies of the Year.
In 2019, the number one spot was claimed by one fictional Baby Yoda, beating out top contenders, the beloved earworm Baby Shark and the adorable Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.

The results, based on US search data - the only report to share details on the most searched babies, may or may not surprise you.

10. Cocomelon baby
While not an actual baby, virtual, human or otherwise, Cocomelon does cater to them via YouTube.
A traditional nursery rhymes and children's songs channel, Cocomelon is "the most-viewed YouTube channel in the United States and second most-viewed channel in the world".
9. Cameron Diaz baby
Actress Cameron Diaz and her musician husband Benji Madden shared baby news in January announcing the birth of their baby girl, Raddix Madden via Instagram. Before the announcement, the couple didn't share any other details about their journey to parenthood.
8. Ed Sheeran baby
Not only did the hitmaker place 23rd on the Forbes Celebrity 100 list given the $64 million he made while on hiatus, but he also became a first-time father. The singer and his wife Cherry Seaborn welcomed daughter Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran in September.
7. Katy Perry baby
From debuting her baby bump via a music video to sharing pregnancy cravings and a sweet gender reveal, Katy Perry kept followers up to speed throughout her pregnancy. The singer welcomed her first child Daisy Dove Bloom with fiancé Orlando Bloom in August.
6. Nicki Minaj baby
After months of teasing and dropping hints about being pregnant, Nicki Minaj finally confirmed baby news via Instagram, showing off her bump in typical Harajuku Barbie style. The rapper welcomed her first child with husband Kenneth Petty in September and her mom Carol Maraj was the first to share news of her daughter's birth to a baby boy.

4. Anderson Cooper baby
Not only has he secured the number 4 spot on this list, but Anderson Cooper baby, better known as Wyatt Morgan has also been named this year's Cutest Baby Alive by People.com. The adorable baby boy is CNN's Anderson Cooper's first child, born via surrogate in April.
3. Ice Age baby
Ice Age Baby, AKA Roshan was first introduced in the 2002 animated film Ice Age, but it wasn't until earlier this year that virtual baby exploded on the internet, from endless memes to inexplicable Facebook groups dedicated to disliking the character and no one is sure why.
"The motivations over this Ice Age Baby hatred are unclear, but it appears to be one of those rare moments where the internet has collectively channelled its energy towards a singular goal," writes Medium.com's Spencer James.
2. Baby platypus
The moment Baby platypus made its first appearance on social media, similarities were pointed out, lines drawn in the sand and Baby Yoda was forever deemed less cute in comparison. The work of fantasy artist Vladimir Matic-Kuriljov who's creation was so realistic that, after going viral, the artist needed to explain that Baby platypus is in fact not real.
"Lots of people were confused if it were real. It's not, I intended it just as a cute sculpture of a fantasy creature, I didn't base it on any real-world reference. It kinda looks like a platypus or even more like an echidna".
1. Elon Musk baby
When Elon Musk and his singer girlfriend Grimes announced the birth of their first child together and the name they had chosen for their son, we weren't sure if they were talking about their newborn or the billionaire's newest SpaceX project.
And as if X Æ A-12 wasn't perplexing enough, the couple has again changed their baby's name to X Æ A-Xii.
Neither parent has shared the pronunciation of this new version but according to Musk's original explanation, "... it's just X, the letter X. And then, the Æ is, like, pronounced 'Ash'... and then, A-12, A-12 is my contribution".
