The “Reading for Meaning” learning portal is designed to stimulate creative thinking by combining Storytime with play.
The digital portal offers storybooks and activities specially designed to help children who need a little extra support with their reading.
The games and activities will help your child to think out of the box, as well as improve their writing and fine motor skills.

Reading for Meaning is an initiative of the Zero Dropout Campaign, which supports projects aimed at reducing learner dropout. Since dropout peaks in high school, these programmes start as early as Grade 5.
The Reading for Meaning methodology teaches children at the right level by focusing on their learning needs rather than their age or grade.
These after-school programmes — also known as “targeted instruction” — work best when they focus on foundational reading skills that children may have missed in the classroom.
Before the Covid-19 outbreak, children were enrolled in Reading for Meaning sessions in a number of schools.
The good news is that parents can now access Reading for Meaning resources online. The portal includes stories with activities, audiobooks, instructional videos, and a guidebook for parents to make reading fun at home.
