A new poll commissioned by printing company CanvasPop found that, on average, moms get 45 pieces of homemade artwork as gifts from their kids through the years, enough to fill a museum with their children's masterpieces.

According to the poll, the average respondent said they got six drawings, four finger paintings and four watercolour paintings made by their kids for Mother's Day and other holidays.

Eighty-eight per cent of moms said they loved being able to have a record of their child's artistic abilities at various ages, so handmade gifts are always appreciated.

The CanvasPop survey also found that moms often frame their kids' artwork and that many keep these gifts for up to 16 years, and 42% said they had to pretend to like a gift at least once.
