Lira has shared her first post in two months, updating her fans and followers on her recovery.

The South African singer suffered a stroke while in Germany for a performance in April 2022. She has since spent time out of the spotlight recovering.

"Complements of the new year!" she wrote alongside a video in which she takes an island holiday.

"My speech healing is very slow, I'm doing the best I can to remain sane. I'm still alive and well. I wish great health, prosperity and love!!"

In September, Lira revealed she had been diagnosed with aphasia – a language disorder caused by damage in a specific area of the brain that controls language expression and comprehension.

The Feel Good singer noted, however, that it is reversible and that while she still faces challenges, she was starting to feel like herself again.

In November, she shared another update, revealing that she had decided to "just enjoy my life" no matter how slow her recovery process is.
