  • Liesl Laurie and Musa Mthombeni shared photos from their white wedding on Instagram on Saturday.
  • The intimate celebration was hosted at Hello Timber and the couple invited 30 guests, who were asked to wear black.
  • Liesl also revealed that she rented her wedding dress, saying: "We went for the options that were the cheapest but obviously also still the prettiest."

Former Miss South Africa Liesl Laurie and TV personality and medical doctor Musa Mthombeni surprised their social media followers with photos from their white wedding on Saturday, revealing they tied the knot a month ago.

Speaking to Martin Bester on Jacaranda FM, Liesl, who had already posted photos from the couple's traditional wedding on social media, said they had received the images some time ago but wanted to space it out between their paid promotional post.

"And then this weekend it just so happened was also our one month anniversary, and we were like, 'Alrighty, let's make it happen'," she said.

Sharing details from their special day, Liesl said that they each invited 15 family members and that guests were asked to wear black to the celebration hosted at Hello Timber in Pretoria.

About her wedding gown, Liesl said: "Priorities are different for everyone. For me, I didn't want to spend money on a wedding, and I rented that dress.

"So everyone is so shocked that the dress was rented. But why would I spend R45 000 on a dress, because that's a high-end dress from a maker in Italy if I'm not mistaken? And to buy that dress here in South Africa started at like R42 000."

She went on to say: "We went for the options that were the cheapest but obviously also still the prettiest."
