- Britney Spears was seen on Saturday cruising with boyfriend, Sam Asghari, after she was granted permission within her conservatorship to drive again.
- The development comes as the pop star was also granted permission to hire her own lawyer.
- Mathew Rosengart has stepped into the role and said: "My firm and I are moving aggressively and expeditiously to file a petition to remove Jamie Spears."
Things are progressing quickly for Britney Spears, who the court allowed to hire her own lawyer, Mathew Rosengart, earlier this month.
Rosengart is a former federal prosecutor who's represented both Steven Spielberg and Sean Penn in the past. He said following court proceedings this week: "My firm and I are moving aggressively and expeditiously to file a petition to remove Jamie Spears unless he resigns first."
Since his appointment, the pop star has also been granted permission within her conservatorship to drive again. A source tells People Britney is "very happy" about the decision.
The singer was seen on Saturday behind the wheel with boyfriend Sam Asghari in the passenger's seat.
"She is ecstatic and beyond grateful for all the help she is receiving right now," the insider adds. "She likes the court developments so far. She is very hopeful that her new lawyer will be able to end the conservatorship."
The news comes shortly after Britney's explosive testimony in court and her scathing post calling out her family. "This conservatorship killed my dreams," she wrote on Instagram last week.
Now, in a new post, she says: "I think we all know that I will never be able to let go and fully move on until I've said all I needed to say … and I'm not even close !!!! I was told to stay quiet about things for so long and I finally feel like I'm just getting here. [sic]"
As Britney's conservatorship battle continues, another hearing on a security fees issue will take place on Monday, before several more petitions are heard back in court late September.
