
Gospel singer Israel Mosehla has died. He was 50 years old.
According to Sowetan Live Israel died on Sunday after "battling hypertension that eventually led to heart failure".
The Soweto-born musician was part of a gospel group called G. Effect in 1985 before branching out as a solo artist. Between 2003 and 2005, Israel, together with G-Effect, toured the USA, the UK and Brazil.
In 2007 he opened his own record label, Kgabo Music Productions, and released the album Endaweni Ephakeme, nationally and locally.
In an Instagram post dedicated to her husband, Millicent Mosehla wrote: "You left me shattered."
The couple had been married for 29 years and have six children together.
"It is important for family to live and base everything that they do on Biblical principles, especially marriage, as God is the founder of marriage."
Israel previously told Move! in a 2016 interview.
