  • Piers Morgan has come under fire for his comments about Meghan Markle following her interview with Oprah.

  • Since, celebrities including Jameela Jamil, Chelsea Handler and Beyoncé have spoken out.

Jameela Jamil is opening up about wanting to take her own life following "relentless" criticism from Piers Morgan.

Her tweet comes after the British broadcaster said he didn't believe anything Meghan said in her interview with Oprah.

He later cleared the air on Good Morning Britain, saying: "I still have serious concerns about the veracity of a lot of what she said. But let me just state for the record about my position on mental illness and on suicide. Mental illness and suicide - these are clearly extremely serious things. They should be taken extremely seriously. And if somebody is feeling that way, they should get the treatment and the help that they need every time."

Chelsea Handler also wrote on Twitter: "It's amazing that @piersmorgan calls himself a journalist when time and time again, he seems to have missed the women's movement. Or any movement really. Another day, another racist old white man using his privilege to throw tantrums on TV."

While Beyoncé took to her website to send a special shout-out to Meghan Markle.

"Thank you Meghan for your courage and leadership. We are all strengthened and inspired by you," she said.
