Reigning Miss World Toni-Ann Singh coming to Cape Town for Miss South Africa

• Miss World 2019 Toni-Ann Singh of Jamaica will attend the Miss South Africa 2021 live show as a special guest.
• Miss South Africa 2021 will be crowned on Saturday, 16 October, at the Grand Arena, GrandWest in Cape Town.
• Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray and 2019's Zozibini Tunzi have been announced as backstage presenters during the Miss South Africa 2021 grand finale.

Miss World Toni-Ann Singh of Jamaica will join Miss Supranational Chanique Rabe of Namibia and Miss Universe Andrea Meza of Mexico when Miss South Africa 2021 is crowned at the Grand Arena, GrandWest in Cape Town.

Before Toni-Ann Singh was crowned Miss World, she was a student pursuing bachelor's a degree in women's studies in Florida in the US with aspirations to one day become a medical doctor.

She talks about Miss World, saying: "When they say beauty pageant, we're talking about Beauty with a Purpose. They're more concerned about what you're advocating for and if you can articulate what you're passionate about and how you can help us change the world."

She has visited South Africa once before, shortly after she was crowned: "I was invited there by Chief Zwelivelile 'Mandla' Mandela, Nelson Mandela's eldest grandson, to celebrate his mother's 70th birthday in Mvezo and donate 1 300 pairs of shoes as part of Beauty with a Purpose's continued support of local schools and children. I also got to sing to her Etta James' At Last, and speak about Beauty with a Purpose and its initiatives."

She will be accompanied on her visit by Julia Morley, chairperson and CEO of Miss World Organisation. She is the widow of Miss World founder Eric Morley, who organised the first pageant in 1951, and all the pageant to follow until his death in 2000.

Miss South Africa 2021 will be crowned on Saturday at the Grand Arena, GrandWest in Cape Town. The event will be screened live from 17:00 on M-Net (DStv 101) and Mzansi Magic (DStv 161) and streamed online for an international audience on MissSA.live with extra highlights and exclusive content.

This year's Miss South Africa will be a show to remember. Hosts are two of South Africa's best-loved television personalities, Anele Mdoda and Nico Panagio, while Miss Universe title holders, 2018 winner Catriona Gray and her 2019 successor, our own Zozibini Tunzi, will be backstage presenters.
