It's the song that took 2020 by storm, and while it may have surprised us, singer Nomcebo Zikode says she new Jerusalema would be a hit from the moment she stepped into the studio with Master KG.
In a previous interview with Channel24, the singer recalls telling Master KG that this song "is the one" that would take their careers to the next level.
Her intuition was right - Jerusalema ruled the global airwaves in 2020.
Here are some big moments the song celebrated this year.
A global dance challenge
It all started with the Jerusalema dance challenge - people would gather in groups, with plates of food in hand, and dance in unison to the song. The feel-good challenge spread across the globe, and before we knew it, hundreds of videos surfaced online.
This Jerusalema dance challenge created by the South African Film and TV industry has to be one of our favourites.
Certified platinum
Master KG celebrated when he received news that his track was certified platinum in Italy in August. The star later found out that the song went double platinum in the European country and also shared that it went diamond in France.
