And she has just released a new EP titled It's Gonna Be Fine.

The South African musician has 11 years in the industry and over 400 live performances at coffee shops, bars, and festivals countrywide under her belt.

In a quick Q&A, we learn a little more about the Joburger, known for her engaging performances and how her new EP came about.

Describe the EP in three words.

Relatable, optimistic, honest.

How long did it take to write, record, and produce It's Gonna Be Fine?

I started writing the tracks a year and a half ago and leisurely produced little demos as I wrote them. Then when the Micro-Creation grant from SAMRO came through, I dashed into the studio, and we recorded, mixed and mastered it in three weeks.

How many instruments can you play?

If one considers the voice an instrument, then officially two. (I know enough chords on the ukelele and the piano to bang out a tune, but I can't profess to 'play' them)

How many times have you stood in the wrong queue?

Enough times to warrant writing a song about it.

What inspired the 70's-theme of your EP artwork?

It harkens back to a simpler time, that magical place in the past that, when viewed retrospectively, always seemed so much better. But we know things aren't always fine, which is why there's a bit of wear and tear on everything. My two besties (Lauren 'Peachfish' Schlachter - a tattoo artist, and Jared Viljoen - a graphic designer) designed and conceptualised it.

What is your favourite song on It's Gonna Be Fine?

That's like choosing a favourite child... I honestly couldn't say! Each one of them is unique and full of its own character.
