News24's Bashiera Parker was invited by Mathias Bogaert, consul general of the king of Belgium, to a celebratory lunch at Den Anker at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town. Of course, she accepted. Seated at the table next to King Philippe and Queen Mathilde, and right next to the queen's secretary, she shared stories about the Belgian royals while enjoying the "Culinary Marriage between Belgian and Cape Malay cuisine" – a menu created by chef Piet Huysentruyt and chef Reuben Riffel. She shares more about her experience dining like royalty, with royalty.
