Prince Charles has modified his favourite car.
In an interview with BBC, the future king revealed that an Aston Martin he has owned for 51 years now runs on "surplus English white wine and whey from the cheese process".
The fuel called E85 is made up of 85% bioethanol and 15% unleaded petrol. Bioethanol can be derived from various sources, such as in the case of Charles, surplus wine and alcohol extracted from fermented whey.
The 72-year-old, a lifelong environmentalist, also shared that most of the cars on his estate are now electric, but "it can't all be done with electric vehicles".
The prince is set to attend events at the two-week COP26 summit in Glasgow starting on 31 October, along with his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, reports AFP.
The summit aims to secure new commitments to reduce carbon emissions to prevent runaway global warming.
