TV: Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen
In the latest episode of Meghan Markle's podcast, Archetypes, she spoke to Andy Cohen, Trevor Noah, and Judd Apatow.
Titled Man-ifesting a Cultural Shift, it was the first episode to feature men and focused on the labels that hold women back and how men in the media can influence great cultural conversations.
During her chat with Cohen, the former royal revealed that she tried, but failed, to get booked on his hit show, Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, before she landed her role in the hit TV show Suits.
Markle told Cohen, "I was so eager to be on your show because I was such a Housewives fan at the time, and I just couldn't get booked, Andy!"
Meghan says she enjoyed The Housewives reality TV series, executively produced by Cohen, but has since stopped watching due to the "level of drama" in her own life.
In a recent interview with News24, Cohen spoke about not booking Markle for the show.
"It's so embarrassing. I mean, it's one of the great mistakes in our 13 years," Cohen told News24 during a one-on-one interview.
He added, "Can you imagine if there were footage of Meghan Markle talking about the Housewives floating around? I mean, I really blew it there."
Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen is now airing in South Africa.
The Emmy-nominated show, available on E! Entertainment (DStv 124) at 22:00 on weeknights, features some of Hollywood's biggest stars and sometimes even politicians.
Recent guests included Hillary Clinton and Chelsea Clinton, Sarah Jessica Parker, Amy Schumer, Melissa McCarthy, Chrissy Teigen, Mary J. Blige, Ben Stiller, Patricia Arquette and Anderson Cooper – to name just a few.
