Ashton Kutcher is opening up like never before in the trailer for The Checkup With Dr. David Agus.

The series, premiering on Paramount+ on 6 December – an SA release date has not yet been set – sees "Agus, a cancer specialist, CBS News medical contributor, and one of the world's leading innovative medical authorities, talking with A-list celebrities in emotionally revealing conversations about their personal and sometimes frightening health issues and the impact on their lives and families".

In the first trailer, Kutcher, along with other celebrity guests including Nick Cannon, Oprah Winfrey and Jane Fonda, speaks of his diagnosis, which he first revealed in an episode of Running Wild With Bear Grylls: The Challenge in August.

"I was unable to walk, and then suddenly you can't see," he says.

"When you have this face-to-face with death, you instantly lock in to 'What are you doing with today?'"

Elsewhere in the trailer, he sits with his twin brother, Michael Kutcher, born with cerebral palsy. In an emotionally charged scene, he grabs his hands and the two weep as they open up to Agus.
