Dave Chappelle does not hold back in his new hard-hitting Netflix special which dropped on Thursday night.

According to Variety, the special was filmed on 6 June in Yellow Springs, Ohio where attendees adhered to coronavirus guidelines such as social distancing and the wearing of facemasks.

The special comes with the disclaimer: "From Dave: Normally I wouldn't show you something so unrefined, I hope you understand."

In the 27-minute set titled, 8:46 he gives searing commentary about the death of George Floyd and police brutality, critiques conservative commentator Candance Owen and TV host Laura Ingraham, and shares how the death of Kobe Bryant affected him.

8:46 refers to the amount to time former policeman Derek Chauvin held his knee against George's neck. Dave reveals that it was also the time of day he was born.

"This man kneeled on a man's neck for 8 minutes and 46 seconds. Can you imagine that?! This kid thought he was going to die; he knew he was going to die. He called for his dead mother."

He adds: "I've only seen that once before in my life, my father on his deathbed called for his grandmother. When I watched that tape, I understood this man knew he was gonna die."

"What are you signifying that you can kneel on a man's neck for 8 minutes and 46 seconds and feel like you wouldn't get the wrath of God? That's what is happening right now. It's not for a single cop, it's for all of it", said Dave.

The special is streaming on YouTube.
