BOOK: The Milk Tart Murders by Sally Andrew. (Penguin)

Sally Andrew kicked off the launch of her new novel, The Milk Tart Murders, by appearing dressed as Marilyn Monroe and singing a song from Some Like It Hot. In the book, the first murder to be investigated in this mystery takes place during a screening of that movie. There’s also another link, but to spell it out would be a spoiler.

The Milk Tart Murders (Penguin) is the fourth in Andrew’s series featuring Tannie Maria, who lives in or near Ladismith in the Karoo and who, when she’s not solving the mysteries around her, works as an agony aunt who also provides recipes for dishes to soothe her correspondents’ angst. The first novel in the series, Recipes for Love and Murder, is now a TV series showing on M-Net, and the books have been translated into 14 languages.
