Being a champion triathlete, mom and businessperson makes for a hectic schedule. Vicky van der Merwe knows all about optimizing those hours. The champion triathlete started training five weeks after the birth of her son, Adriaan, last year.

Vicky's achievements are extensive. She was a South African and African triathlon champion in high school and recently won the Cape Town triathlon. But as a mom, wife and business owner (she runs the Stellenbosch Triathlon Squad), training schedules are challenging.

"I've been very lucky with my boy; he's slept from six weeks. My husband also trains, so we manage the schedule, from 5-7 am, with my training being the priority."
