BMW has added a bucket load of glitz and glam with a new model called the Golden Thunder edition that features styling cues from the brand's Individual equipment line.
The carmaker says its Golden Thunder edition, available on all three body variants, 'adds specific design accentuation in gold along with high-end BMW Individual equipment features for both the exterior and interior'.
Essentially, it's to give a customer something extra that sets their 8 Series apart from the normal versions.

Bespoke styling
In Europe this Edition Golden Thunder version is available for all model variants of the new 8 Series Coupé, the new 8 Series Convertible and the new 8 Series Gran Coupé – from the 840i and the 840d xDrive through to the M850i xDrive and goes production from September at the BMW plant in Dingolfing.
The M sports package is always a standard feature in these vehicles. In terms of exterior paint hues, the Sapphire Black metallic or Frozen Black metallic and carefully selected colour accentuations in gold.
The s by BMW Individual High Gloss Shadow Line with extended features and black brake calipers for the M sports brake system. Notice the gold-finished exterior mirror caps, the M rear spoiler (exclusively available for the 8 Series Coupé) and the 20-inch M light alloy wheels in double-spoke design.

The interior trim finishers feature an aluminium mesh effect gold and the inscription "Edition Golden Thunder" embroidered on the front headrests. The Coupe and Gran Coupe also feature alcantara anthracite roof lining
On the centre console there's an edition emblem to remind you what you're in. The edition models also feature Crafted Clarity glass applications for selected controls and the Bowers & Wilkins Diamond surround sound system as standard.
