• Mitsubishi to continue its 2020 product offensive
• Triton Xtreme to launch in July
• New Xpander scheduled for early 2021
Mitsubishi South Africa began 2020 on a high note with the introduction of the new ASX, new Outlander, and a new addition to Eclipse Cross range. The automaker is not done, however, as they announced that more products are planned for the remainder of 2020 and early 2021.
Some of the new models planned for the remainder of 2020 and early 2021 include:
• Upgraded version of the Triton Xtreme early next month
• 2020 Pajero Sport including a brand-new derivative
• Introduction of a brand-new model early in 2021
Nic Campbell, General Manager of Mitsubishi Motors South Africa (MMSA), says: "The reopening of business as South Africa entered Level 3 of the lockdown allowed MMSA to come to the rescue of its loyal SA customer base with a variety of value-added special offers. This includes a no-deposit offer on various models, while we are rounding up orders from before and during the lockdown
"For the immediate future, we are very excited about launching the Triton Xtreme in July, followed by the enhanced Pajero with the new 4x4 Exceed added to the range in South Africa before the end of the year."

New Triton Xtreme
As the industry tries to return some form of normality, the Triton Xtreme will be the first vehicle Mitsubishi is set to launch. The Triton Xtreme will be available in limited numbers and will be based on the 4x4 double cab auto.
Campbell says: "The Xtreme offers a host of upgrades, based on customer feedback and is valued at around R100 000, but at only R40 000 more than the current model."

• Front Frill design, incorporating the Mitsubishi Dynamic Shield
• Same legendary styling and superior capabilities
• New Exceed model offering more tech.

New Xpander
Expected to launch earlier 2021, is Mitsubishi's new Xpander. This seven-seater compact MPV is manufactured in Indonesia and will only be available in 4x2 guise. The MPV will be powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine coupled to a manual or automatic transmission.
The brand-new Xpander is a practical, family-orientated seven-seater where all the seats behind the front row can be folded down and out of the way, converting the interior to a massive space for bigger items, such as sporting adventure gear.
Campbell concludes: "We are very excited about launching these new models in South Africa in 2020 as they will have a host of upgraded equipment and new features that we will unveil closer to launch, including new technologies and improved value for money for our customers thanks to more and better equipment included in the price."
