The Volkswagen T-Roc launched in South Africa in 2020. So popular was the vehicle that it quickly established itself as a go-to SUV for many South Africans - not only among us 'mere mortals' but celebrities, as well.

Among the latter is comedian Donovan Goliath, who has taken South Africa's comedy scene by storm in recent years. Better known as Davina Mae Gordon, on the other hand, is a very popular violinist who has put South Africa on the map with her interesting twist on cover songs, and her undeniable talent. During lockdown the couple began creating content on social media platforms to lighten the dreaded mood set by the pandemic, and their parady images and videos are absolutely hilarious. Naturally, their quirky humour overflows in their roadtrip video above.

Yet, Donovan is a fan of the 'people's bus', which is why he and his violinist wife Davina opted for the T-Roc. They're both also rather family-orientated, and that's what makes this trip in the VW so special. Since she's also quite far along in her pregnancy, it also made for exciting times - like being stuck in an extended stop-and-go, and a much-needed bathroom break was of an urgent matter.

The two, who recently got married in a very intimate and private ceremony, decided that it was time to leave the hustle and bustle of the big city and set about a cross-country road trip to see their families. First, they stopped in Mthatha to see Donovan's folks, then Davina's family in Somerset West, Cape Town.

All the while, the T-Roc transported the duo in sheer comfort, never letting them down as they explored our beautiful country by car.
