This year has seen more and more electric vehicles added to the list of available options in South Africa, especially with Audi, and most recently, Mercedes-Benz adding several vehicles to their ranges. News24 Motoring contributor Stuart Johnston got to drive some of the latter automaker's offerings but reckons it's still best to hold on to what we have and invest in a petrol-fuelled car that still talks to you.

Earlier in December, I sampled some of the new all-electric range of cars now being marketed with gusto by Mercedes-Benz in South Africa. Super impressive in many respects if you ignore the concerns about range anxiety, not to mention charging times that might occur on a holiday trip.
