I have a confession, and it involves one of the best cars I've driven this year. Oh petrolhead, you're not going to like this, writes Wheels24 contributor Calvin Fisher.
I'm an avowed cyclist. I'm similarly passionate about cars, especially performance metal such as the brilliant Audi S5 Sportback. Yet, on the day I took delivery of it, I casually walked around to the back to see if it possessed my favourite feature on a car.
And there it was, the lesser-spotted but greatly appreciated tow bar. This meant I could use the S5 and its turbocharged 3.0 6-cylinder to the tune of 250kW and 500Nm to carry my muddy bike into the mountains without harming its sumptuous cabin. I know. I'm pathetic. But let me explain.
I had been spoiled with some truly magnificent RS vehicles in the past few months. Nothing less than Ingolstadt's finest, from the RS6 and RS4 Avant, the RSQ8 and indeed, the very similar RS5 Sportback. That one in particular featured 331kW and 600Nm from a twin-turbocharged 2.9l V6.
