Sex toy review : Rianne S Matryoshka

When I first Instagrammed my new plaything, a few eyebrows were emotically raised:

Is it a baby’s dummy? A Matryoshka doll? A stopper of sorts? A teeny tiny skittle? A child’s toy?

The reason for the obvious confusion is that there has simply never been a sex toy in this shape before. And after using it a few happy times, I have to wonder why.

First impressions

Taking its name and shape from the Russian Matryoshka dolls, this little vibe is delightfully unassuming and pretty damn cute. Because it’s so small, it’s easy to mistake it at first glance as a clitoral/external vibe – your first experience, however, will uncover a few more titillating uses.

What it is

Well this is what is tricky about this toy, because it’s both an internal and external vibe that can be used vaginally or anally, so it’s super versatile and wouldn’t really fall in any one category.

Being shaped like a Matryoshka doll, the toy has two rounded ends, with the top or ‘head’ end smaller than the other bottom or ‘body’ end. The motor sits in the head and the controls in the body.

How you use it

It’s shape and the placing of the controls makes the Matryoshka super easy to use – even the controls are placed high up enough off the peak of the curve to make the settings easy to change mid-happy time.

The first way to play with the toy is to hold the body in your hand while using the smaller head to vibe against your clit.

But the buzz from that one motor is strong enough to carry through the silicon and the gorgeous design just perfectly curved to run the shape of your yoni from clit to vagina – yummy enough to place the whole toy against this area for a more full and extensive stim.

You can even move the toy internally by turning it around and inserting the tip inside of yourself. The full extent of your versatility with this plaything becomes more obvious here.

Lie on your tummy with the toy inserted and your hips and clitoral area pressed against a pillow or sit on it – as the bottom is stub and rounded it doesn’t get in the way of finding any quirky position to move yourself into.

Just remember – you’re not committed to missionary position with your sex toys any more than you are with your partner, so learn to experiment with HOW you play with your toys.

If you’re into anal play, you could even insert the small end into your bottom. The stubby end works well as a stopper.

Just remember it’s an either/or with your toy also: You can’t move from back to front. So, in one sitting, either use the Matryoshka for your yoni or your bum – not both (unless you’re going to stop play and clean your toy thoroughly).

It’s also GREAT for partner play; it’s unassuming (for partners uncertain with toys), easy to control and doesn’t take centre stage with fussiness.

The beauty and the buzz

One motor kicks out five different patterns with five intensities. What I loved about this was that the motor is strong enough to manage this range and power through the whole toy and is still super quiet.

Premium 100% body-safe silicon and hard plastic is used for this ‘little lady with a big secret’. It’s also waterproof and rechargeable with a little indicator light and wonderfully discreet charging box. There’s also a very handy travel lock.

As with a growing number of premium toys, Rianne-S’s Matryoshka is presented in a sturdy box, includes a satin pouch for your toy and comes with a one-year warranty.

Despite feeling at first like I’d been presented with a Russian mail-order bride, I highly recommend the Matryoshka. I’ll let you know what other fun positions and secrets I discover from her…
