  • Brides usually change twice on their wedding day, a dress for the ceremony and another for the reception.
  • However, 41-year-old Porsha Williams changed seven times for her two day wedding ceremony that took place this past weekend.
  • The Friday ceremony was in celebration of her husband's Nigerian culture and on Saturday, it was a white American wedding in Atlanta.

Reality TV star, Porsha Williams recently tied the knot with Simon Guobadia. She had a star-studded wedding guest list that included her former co-stars from the Real Housewives of Atlanta, the likes of Nene Leakes, Drew Sidora, Kandi Burrus and Cynthia Bailey.

The 41-year-old had a two day wedding celebration and in true Porsha Williams style she wore seven custom designed wedding gowns, including traditional Nigeria wedding gowns.

As Simon is from Benin City in Edo State, Nigeria, his bride had to wear a customary Edo ensemble. To celebrate Nigerian culture, the couple had a Friday wedding ceremony and the following day they had an American wedding ceremony in Atlanta, Georgia.

For her Friday ceremony, Porsha wore three traditional looks to celebrate the Nigerian culture, a velvet red gown with feather detail and a headpiece called an okuku that featured Benin coral beads that was designed by Lakimmy. She later changed into a royal blue gown and a gold gown designed by Tabik.

During the Friday ceremony, wedding guests were also told to wear purple and teal traditional Nigerian attire. The couple provided family members with a cultural fabric to make outfits for them. "It was a huge undertaking. I personally chose the fabrics that they're going to be wearing, including their head wrap, their gele. I chose all of the colours, everything. I should be a stylist after this!" she told People.

The wedding celebrations continued on Saturday at the Methodist church in Atlanta. Porsha wore a white lace Frida gown for the church ceremony as she walked down the aisle.

Thereafter she changed into a cream-coloured sparkling Albina Dyla gown for the reception. The reception look had glittery detailing with off-shoulder sleeves that she wore with a crown and shimmering veil.

Before she tossed the wedding bouquet, she changed into another gown and then again for the after-party. "I thought, 'Why not? It's my last wedding forever," she added.

Her seven wedding gowns weren't the only extra element of the wedding as the wedding cake was so tall that they needed a sword to cut it. "If extra was a bride, it would be me. I promise you I did not know that I was this extra," she adds.
