"Why do I need to get the vaccine if I've had Covid?" is a question many people ask. A high number of people around the globe have been infected with the virus, and coupled with evidence that natural immunity is durable, one may wonder why these people still need to be vaccinated against Covid-19.

In fact, some experts have also advocated that just one dose of the two-dose vaccines be given to those with previous infection.

"This would also spare individuals from unnecessary pain when getting the second dose and it would free up additional vaccine doses," Icahn School of Medicine virologist and researcher Florian Krammer told The New York Times.
