Bud Light beer is recalled for being a 'date-raper's drink'

American produced beer Anheuser-Busch has been trashed on social media for the slogan appearing on their Bud Light beer: "The perfect beer for removing ‘no’ from your vocabulary for the night."

The drink has been referred to as the "date-raper's friend", and the slander against the beer maker has gone viral, forcing the makers of Bud Light to remove the label. 

According to an article in Bloomberg.com, Bud Light beer, once America's most popular beer, had been steadily losing market share over the last couple of years and analysts say this is largely because of the growing micro-brewery industry and America's new-found love of craft beers.

The Up For Whatever Campaign, which has been running for two years and had created more than 140 different scroll messages intended to "encourage spontaneous fun" was aimed at courting a younger generation of consumers.

It's not the first time Anheuser-Busch was in hot water with the public. In March 2014 it was forced to backpedal after a St. Patrick's Day tweet suggested it’s OK to “pinch” women "who don’t wear green" or "aren’t #UpForWhatever".
