Are you at risk of skin cancer?

If you answer yes to any of the following questions, you are at risk of skin cancer:
  1. Do you have fair hair and light-coloured eyes?
  2. Do you have any moles, freckles and marks on your skin?
  3. Has a member of your family been diagnosed with melanoma?
  4. Did you have three or more serious cases of sunburn before the age of twenty?
  5. Are you a weekend sunbather who wants an instant tan?
  6. Are you regularly exposed to the sun – for example a farmer, a cricket player, a golfplayer or a sport spectator?

Note: If you answered yes to any of these questions, you have a risk of developing skin cancer and should use sunscreens and other preventative measures. If you answered yes to questions 4 & 5, you are at greater risk of developing melanoma. If you answered yes to question 6, you are at greater risk of developing basal cell carcinoma or squamous cell carcinoma.
