Media personality Warrick Stock, better known by his stage name DJ Warras, received backlash after he made comments about child support grants on social media.

The deejay said the grants were giving people incentive to have babies they’re unable to support. This didn’t sit well with his fans, and they let him know.

In a tweet that was later deleted, Warras said, “I don’t agree with the child grant payment, before Covid. That whole payment for children is just a s**t plan. People should not be incetivized to have children they can’t afford [sic].”

After noting that many people weren’t happy with his views on child support grants, the DJ said he had been misunderstood.

He explained that all he was trying to highlight was the issue of absent fathers.

“I have since deleted the tweet as the point I was making was not understood. I was trying to make a point about absentee fathers who leave single mothers & the state to bare the responsibility of raising their children [sic],” he clarified.

He went on to say that it’s unfair for men to bail on their responsibilities, leaving woman pregnant with no real plan of how to go about raising their child alone.

The father of three says this is not right and men ought to be held accountable for their actions.

“Among other things. Men should also be accountable for the babies they make. The mother is stuck. She has to be pregnant for 9 months and give birth. Then raise her child. The man van just roll out after impregnating her and never be held accountable [sic],” he says.
