As the truth is revealed in the Bhengu family on e.TV’s Imbewu - The Seed, families are being destroyed, and relationships wrecked. Ngcolosi, played by Tony Kgoroge, finds out that his wife Ma-Zulu, portrayed by Leleti Khumalo, had given into an ancient Zulu tradition that allows a wife to sleep with her husband’s brother if the husband cannot have children of his own.
Ma-Zulu, behind Ngcolosi’s back was intimate with her husband’s brother Phakade, played by Sandile Dlamini. This act of course was indorsed by the husband’s mother MaNdlovu, played by veteran actress Thembi Mtshali-Jones.
Lead star on the show, Leleti Khumalo takes Move! through her experience while shooting the scenes, “Shooting these scenes was deep and challenging. To say it was emotional is an understatement. It was exceptionally hard, but it was worth it,” she says.
NO HEIR Over and above that betrayal Ngcolosi feels, he bleeds at the fact that not even one of the four children he has raised with his wife are his. The businessman now finds it hard to relate with the children he has called his own for so many years. One of the most emotional scenes of the big reveal, is when broken Ngcolosi demolished their home out of anger and calls MaZulu a snake.
