Rapper Riky Rick real name, Rikhado Makhado has been a trending a topic on social media after rumours surfaced that he was beefing with fellow rapper Cassper Nyovest. The two are known to be good friends in the industry and often joined to the hip at festivals. So, when Cassper’s name didn’t cut it on Riky Rick’s anticipated first annual Cotton Festival line-up, this raised eyebrows.
IS THERE BEEF?
In an interview with Move! the Kwa-Mashu, KwaZulu-Natal born rapper subtly dismissed the rumour, “I’ve got two children in big school. “Beef” is the last thing on my mind at this stage of my life. Also, we still have a few more line-up announcements to make, let’s wait and see!” He says his energy is now invested in his upcoming Cotton Festival which he says is about leaving a legacy for his children. The line-up includes over 80 unique acts, including Mzansi’s hottest rappers such as Kwesta, Stogie T, Nasty C, Nadia Nakai and many others. The festival is set to take place on 2 February at The Station in Joburg where fashion will be the order of the day.
SIDLUKOTINIThe Sidlukotini hitmaker will be taking his love for fashion and trendsetting to the next level. “I’ve always had an eye for nice looking things. I’m a bit OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) so presentation has always been on my mind,” Ricky Rick says. Even though he is excited about this project, Ricky Rick will not leave the rap scene. I don’t think you can leave things you love. You might do it on different levels but at this age I’ve decided what I like in my life,” he says.
