Veteran actor Menzi Ngubane, who plays Judas Ngwenya, is leaving Mzansi Magic’s lsibaya, the channel has confirmed.
"After four successful seasons on Isibaya, Menzi Ngubane, who plays the role of Judas Ngwenya, is leaving the show," Philly Kubheka, HOD: PR & publicity local entertainment channel confirmed to Move!.
Philly was not forthcoming with the reasons behind Menzi’s exit but only revealed that the character will die.
"Sadly, the story of Judas Ngwenya has come to an end, his terrible deeds have led him to his own tragic death," he revealed.
Judas will be murdered by his long-standing enemy, Mpiyakhe Zungu (played by Siyabonga Thwala).
According to a report, Menzi was booted off the drama series because the writers didn’t have anything further to write for his character.
Another character who will be killed off is Thandeka Ndlovu (played by Nomzamo Mbatha). Just as the season 8, begins Thandeka will die.
Philly was cagey about details regarding Nomzamo’s exit, though. Yet the actress was still part of the cast, Philly told our sister magazine Drum.
"As local entertainment channels, we are very proud of Nomzamo Mbatha’s international project and achievements to date. She still forms a critical part of the Isibaya cast," Philly said.
Meanwhile, Nomzamo has taken to Instagram to share how excited she is to be part of an international production now that she’s living in the US.
