How do I comment on an article?
As a subscriber you can be part of the conversations hosted in our comments sections. Only subscribers have the benefit of reading and writing comments at the bottom of News24 articles. You have to be signed into your profile to be able to read and write comments. For more information on how comments work, read our commenting policy.
How do I listen to articles?
Sometimes, there is a long feature or investigative piece you want to read, but you simply don't have time for. If you are a News24 subscriber, you can listen to an article by clicking on the 'Listen' button at the top of the page. This way, you can listen to it while driving, or cooking or doing other chores. You can also bookmark an article to listen to later.
How do I bookmark articles to save for later?
You can bookmark articles either on the homepage or in an article itself by tapping the little flag, or bookmark icon on the article thumbnail or the article itself. In both cases, the bookmark will be saved in your bookmarks folder, which you can always access by tapping 'Bookmarks' in the bottom navigation bar if you're in the app or on your phone. If you're reading on your computer, your bookmarks are stored in your profile. You have to be signed into your free News24 profile to save bookmarks.
How do I remove a bookmark?
You can remove an article from your bookmarks folder by clicking on the bookmark icon on the article thumbnail or inside the article itself. It will be automatically removed from the list in your profile.
Can I share a subscriber only article with a friend who is not a subscriber?
Yes, you can. Subscribers get five articles every month to share with friends who are not subscribers. Click on the gift icon at the top of an article to send a link to a friend via email.
Where do I manage my newsletters?
You can see a full list of our newsletters by tapping on the 'Discover' tab at the bottom of the app and mobile site, or, if you are reading on your computer, by visiting the 'Profile' page and going to 'My Newsletters'. You can easily subscribe/unsubscribe to a newsletter by selecting/deselecting the button next to each one. You have to be subscribed or signed up for a free profile to see the full list of newsletters available. Certain newsletters are subscriber-exclusive and will be greyed out on the 'My Newsletters' page for non-subscribers.
Why am I not receiving my subscriber newsletters?
Make sure your subscription is paid up to date. Check in the 'My Newsletters' section that the toggle next to the relevant newsletter is set to on. Make sure that your subscribed email address is the same one you are looking for the newsletter to arrive on. If you still do not receive a newsletter as expected, please check your email junk folder, and if it is there, move it to the inbox and mark it for the future as a safe sender. A pro tip to make sure your newsletters don't go to junk, is to save our sender email address (newsletters@news24.com) to your contacts.
How do I access magazine and newspaper content in PDF form?
As a paid subscriber you have access to the latest e-editions of YOU and True Love as well as City Press. You can read the e-editions online but cannot download a PDF version. To access these, please click here.
Does my subscription include a print copy of a magazine or newspaper?
Your subscription includes all the digital content from News24 as well as e-editions of your favourite magazines and City Press, but no print versions.
How do I search for articles?
If you are reading in the News24 app, tap 'Search' in the bottom navigation bar on your phone, type in your search query and hit enter (tap 'Done') on your keyboard. You will now see all relevant search results. If you're reading on your computer, simply use the Search bar at the top of your page or click here.
How do I turn alerts on or off in my News24 app?
You can turn alerts on or off on your 'Profile' view by tapping on 'Profile' in the bottom navigation bar and then tapping on 'My Alerts'. You will see a list of alerts for different topics and choose which ones you want to receive or not.
How do I choose my weather locations?
You choose your weather locations by clicking the weather icon in the top right corner of the screen. Click the 'Add your current location' button to add your current location or type in your preferred location in the search box at the top, which will show you relevant options. You can add multiple locations. You can also access this feature by tapping 'Discover' in the bottom navigation bar on your phone. If you're reading on your computer, your weather locations are stored in your profile.
How do I manage my traffic updates?
To set up or manage your traffic updates in the app, tap 'Discover' in the bottom navigation bar and then tap on 'Traffic' under 'Features'. You can then either set up the locations for which you would like to see traffic incidents, or you can view/manage existing locations. You can also follow the latest traffic news by tapping on the 'News' tab. If you're reading on your computer, your locations are stored in your profile.
