Nairobi – "Angry" bees reportedly caused havoc outside the Kenyan Supreme Court where the full judgment of last month's annulled polls was being delivered on Wednesday, leaving a disabled man badly bitten.

A video clip that was widely circulated on social media showed the "angry" bees attacking police and protesters.

Protesters could be seen running for cover.

The protesters were also seen pulling one person to safety - reportedly a disabled beggar left unconscious after the swarm attacked.

According to BBC, they poured water on him. He was reported to have been taken to hospital following the incident.

The bees were said to have emerged after their hive was disturbed by protesters.

The country's Supreme Court annulled President Uhuru Kenyatta's victory in the August 8 election, saying there were irregularities and illegalities.

The court made its decision in response to opposition leader Raila Odinga's petition challenging the official results that Kenyatta won with 54%  of the vote.

The electoral commission has set October 17 as the date for a fresh election.
