Here's what you need to know about the state of the US presidential elections between Republican President Donald Trump and Democratic nominee, former vice-president Joe Biden:  

1. The battleground states

Trump's lead is narrowing in Georgia, CNN reports, as more mail-in votes are counted. The publication reports there are about 50 000 ballots left to count. Georgia is one of a few states where a winner hasn't been projected yet.
