Eleven people were killed when two minibus taxis collided head-on on the N4 near Ngodwana in Mpumalanga, paramedics said today.
Netcare 911 spokesperson Chris Botha said the accident occurred at around midnight.
He said nine people died on the scene and two died after arriving in hospital.
“Some of the passengers were trapped in the twisted metal,” he said.
No further details were immediately available.
