A doctor has found no sign that the four-year-old daughter of an actor was raped by her father, the SABC reported on today.
Prosecutors would now support the bail application of the 45-year-old man after a doctor’s report showed no sign of sexual assault on the child, the public broadcaster said.
This contradicted testimony presented by the child’s grandmother.
The man was arrested in Germiston on January 2 for allegedly sexually assaulting one of his two daughters.
It was alleged that the family booked into the Garden Court hotel recently and the girl was assaulted while her mother was away.
The man allegedly left the hotel when the mother returned.
The grandmother reported the case to the police who arrested the man.
Beeld newspaper reported that the state wanted to view SMS messages in possession of the actor’s lawyer.
The messages suggested that the grandmother had plotted against the actor.
