‘Drunk’ truck driver rams into girl (4)

A four-year-old girl was killed when a delivery truck rammed into her in Dobsonville, Soweto.

“The little girl was standing outside the yard at around 7pm on Sunday when the truck crashed her into the gate,” Gauteng police spokesperson Warrant Officer Kay Makhubela said.

“The truck driver was drunk and did not have a driver’s licence.”

The girl died on arrival at hospital. The driver, aged 27, was charged with culpable homicide.

He is expected to appear in the Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court soon.
